The aim of the journal is to improve the lives of those with headache and facial pain by publishing sound scientific articles focusing on topics that are of great interest and importance to the medical community in an open access fashion and at no cost to the authors. Different geographic locations may have great variance in access to health care, treatments and medical education although all have commonality of headache and facial pain.
The journal aims to foster communication widely by publishing articles of high standard pertaining to painful disorders affecting the head, face and neck, including their pathogenesis, pathophysiology, manifestations, diagnostic assessment, monitoring, prevention, and management.
The Editor relies on evaluations by members of the Editorial Board and outside experts in deciding whether submitted manuscripts should be accepted for publication, revised for further peer review, or rejected. Manuscripts considered include original research, reviews (narrative and systematic), correspondence, case reports and editorials (by invitation only). The main criterion for publication is the significance of the submission’s contribution to the literature.
